Haliey Welch, the "Hawk Tuah girl," launched a cryptocurrency token ($Hawk) in December 2024 that quickly plummeted in value, leading to accusations of a "rug pull". Welch claims she was misled by a friend of a friend and that the project was supposed to be community-oriented and charitable. A podcast episode featuring Welch, FaZe Banks, and others, intended to be her comeback, was leaked before release, causing further controversy.
